The Odisha Deaf Cricket Association (ODCA) had the privilege of meeting Shri Suryabanshi Suraj, Hon’ble Minister for Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha, in a constructive and forward-looking discussion on the development of deaf cricket and inclusive sports in the state.
During the meeting, the ODCA team presented a detailed overview of the recently concluded ADCA T20I Asia Cup 2026, which was successfully hosted in Odisha. The tournament marked a significant milestone for the state, with Team India emerging as champions, bringing pride and recognition to the region’s sporting ecosystem.
The association also submitted its annual budget proposal, outlining key initiatives, infrastructure requirements, training programs, and long-term plans aimed at strengthening deaf cricket across Odisha. The proposal emphasizes creating more opportunities for deaf athletes, enhancing grassroots development, and building a sustainable sporting framework.
The meeting was highly encouraging, with the Hon’ble Minister expressing keen interest in supporting initiatives that promote inclusivity and equal opportunities in sports.
ODCA looks forward to continued collaboration with the Government of Odisha to further elevate deaf cricket and foster an inclusive sporting environment for all.
